Simu Liu Is Engaged to Allison Hsu—See Her Stunning Ring and Romantic Paris Proposal

Simu Liu is officially off the market! The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend Allison Hsu on May 11, sharing a series of romantic photos from their picture-perfect proposal in Paris.

The couple’s announcement featured photos of the moment Liu popped the question, including a breathtaking shot of Hsu showing off a massive oval-cut diamond ring as they stood on a candlelit balcony adorned with pink flowers. One especially heartwarming image shows the two embracing in front of the Eiffel Tower, a fitting backdrop for such a grand gesture.

“Allison, I choose you forever and always,” Liu, 36, captioned the post. “From weekends in Paris, day trips to Palm Springs, long nights on set, afternoons vegging on the couch and everything in between.”

Hsu, 28, sweetly commented, “Us forever 💍💍💍🤍🤍🤍” and followed up with another post declaring, “I love you fiancé!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

The couple received an outpouring of love from friends and fellow celebrities, including Olivia Munn and Florence Pugh, Liu’s co-star in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, currently in production.

Liu and Hsu, a marketing director, were first linked in late 2022. After she posted a cozy photo of the pair in November of that year, the couple made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Violent Night in Los Angeles. Since then, they’ve attended numerous public events together, including the star-studded Barbie premiere in 2023.

Liu has frequently shared his admiration for Hsu, paying tribute to her on her birthday in August 2023. “She inspires me in her passion for music (well… one musician specifically), teaches me how to balance a busy and chaotic schedule with grace, and touches me in how she cares for each and every person in her life,” he wrote. “Most importantly, she shows me that the people we love are always worth fighting for.”
