Spodick, one of the 13 men who competed on the 2016 gay dating series Finding Prince Charming had been remembered by loved ones as a warm, generous soul with a deep compassion for people and animals. In a message shared on a GoFundMe page set up to assist his mother with funeral expenses and to care for his beloved pets, a close friend described his passing as “sudden and heartbreaking.”
According to the tribute, Spodick “poured himself into others,” uplifting friends and encouraging them to believe in their own worth. His care for his four dogs and pet bird, Cosmo, was highlighted as emblematic of his kind heart.
The fundraiser quickly gained traction by Friday afternoon it had already raised more than $13,000 toward a $20,000 goal to help cover the costs of Spodick’s funeral, support his mother, and ensure continuing care for his animals.
Spodick had captured public attention nearly a decade ago on Finding Prince Charming, the first all-gay dating show, hosted by Lance Bass. The show featured 13 single men competing for the affection of “Prince Charming” Robert Sepúlveda Jr.. Spodick left the show in its sixth week.
In the years since his reality-show appearance he had returned to private life and was described by friends as genuine, warm-hearted and devoted both to his loved ones and the community. Tributes pouring in on social media reflect how deeply his kindness resonated: many called him a “pure soul with a huge heart” and remembered him as someone who made the world brighter just by being in it.
As of now, no cause of death has been disclosed. Loved ones and fans continue to share memories, stories of kindness, and grief over a life that seemed full of promise and compassion.
