Model, entrepreneur and skincare mogul Hailey Bieber recently revealed that she has made a personal commitment to avoid cosmetic-related Botox injections until she reaches her 30s, even though she currently receives Botox treatment for a medical reason. The 28-year-old told the “In Your Dreams” podcast that while she has no Botox in her face, she does use it in her jaw to treat TMJ-related pain.

In the interview Bieber said she made a promise to herself: “I wasn’t going to do any Botox until I was in my 30s. When I get there I’ll see if I even want to do it.” She explained that she finds treatments that use her own body to be more aligned with her belief in natural skincare. Specifically she said she prefers platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) treatments which involve using her own blood to address areas such as smile lines and the under-eye zone.

Bieber also emphasized the strength of her skincare routine, admitting her commitment to it is so strong that she refuses to go to bed with makeup on regardless of how late or tired she might be. “I could be wasted to the point of seeing double and still will [wash my face],” she shared. The Rhode founder attributes her approach to her upbringing. She pointed out that her mother Kennya Baldwin has never gotten injectable wrinkle-relaxing treatments and “does nothing” to her skin yet looks “insane,” as Bieber put it.

While the idea of skipping Botox may seem unusual in celebrity beauty culture, for Bieber it represents a measured decision. She indicated that her career, brand and new motherhood (she and husband Justin Bieber welcomed their son Jack Blues in August 2024) have shaped her view of beauty and aging. In launching her Rhode skincare line in 2022 and watching it grow into a billion-dollar sale to e.l.f. Beauty, Bieber has become invested not only in what she applies to her own skin but the message she sends about self-care and longevity.

Her decision sends a broader signal in an industry saturated with immediate fixes. By choosing to delay Botox, Bieber sets a standard for intentional beauty that aligns with her brand and personal values. That she still uses non-neurotoxin treatments including PRP/PRF and light lasers shows she is not eschewing aesthetic care altogether but rather selecting treatments that better resonate with her comfort level and long-term goals.

Critics and industry watchers may note that the cosmetic industry is built around youthful looks and frequent maintenance, yet Bieber’s stance suggests a different narrative: ageing gracefully, resisting pressure to conform, and staying aligned with one’s own timeline rather than market demand. For fans and skincare observers this may illustrate how celebrities can reframe norms around beauty and aging, giving rise to trends that emphasize prevention and natural procedures over immediate transformation.

In the end Hailey’s message appears to be grounded in self-knowledge and patience. She is not opposed to aesthetic treatments but is choosing her timing and type of procedures deliberately and that choice is part of her wider journey as a mother, businesswoman and beauty figure. Her stance may well influence how others think about injectables, age-appropriate care and the broader question of what beauty means in a public-facing life.
