Benny Blanco Drives From LA to NYC for Selena Gomez Due to Fear of Flying: “Oh my God, I hate it”

For Benny Blanco, love means going the extra mile, literally.

Despite having a strong fear of flying, the music producer refuses to let that keep him from spending time with Selena Gomez, his girlfriend of nearly a year. With Selena currently filming the fifth season of Only Murders in the Building in New York City, Benny revealed he’s been driving cross-country from Los Angeles just to be with her. And when she’s overseas? He takes a boat to Europe, calling it a “Titanic” journey that lasts over eight days.

“Oh my God, I hate it,” Benny said when asked about flying. “Terrifying. I'm in Dallas right now. I'm driving to New York from Los Angeles.” He even joked about the ordeal: “First you have to drive to New York, and then you get on a boat for eight days, and you're on the Titanic.”

Selena, for her part, understands his fear. “He does not fly,” she said, adding, “I’ve done it, but not since we’ve been dating.” In fact, Selena admitted she wouldn’t even want to fly with him because she’d be too worried about how he’d handle it.

Their long-distance relationship has made them more appreciative of the time they get to share. Appearing on Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware, the couple revealed that they try to see each other every three weeks, although Gomez confessed, “If I’m being really honest, it’s like two days, and then I get really sad.”

They even argue over who said “I love you” first, but it’s clear that no matter the miles between them, Benny and Selena are making it work with heart, humor, and a lot of highway driving.
